Disclaimer

Last updated: 30 July 2026 · Operated by Datim-QI Ltd

Please read this disclaimer carefully before using Datim-QI.

1. Purpose and scope of service

Datim-QI is a benchmarking and quality-improvement tool for NHS general practice teams. It compares a practice’s published QOF achievement, prescribing and clinical-audit data against national, ICB, PCN and peer benchmarks, and uses an AI model to draft a suggested quality-improvement plan from that comparison.

Datim-QI is not a source of clinical, legal, financial or regulatory advice, and it does not provide a clinical decision-support or diagnostic function. Nothing produced by the service should be treated as an instruction to prescribe, treat, code, refer, employ, dismiss, or take any other action with legal, contractual, financial or clinical consequences. Using the service does not create a professional relationship, a duty of care, or any indemnified advisory role.

2. When you should seek other advice

Every AI-generated suggestion in Datim-QI must be reviewed by an appropriately qualified clinician before any patient contact, prescribing decision, coding change or care-pathway action is taken. For matters involving legal responsibility, regulatory standards, employment issues, or organisational risk, consult your practice’s own governance leads, defence organisation, professional body or the relevant regulator. Datim-QI is not a substitute for any of these.

3. No patient-identifiable data

Datim-QI is built to run only on publicly published, aggregate NHS data:

  • Published QOF achievement and exception-reporting data
  • Published prescribing data (OpenPrescribing / NHS prescribing atlases)
  • Published clinical-audit data (e.g. CVDPREVENT, National Diabetes Audit)
  • NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) practice, PCN and ICB identifiers

3a. Data sources

All benchmark figures shown in Datim-QI are drawn from these published sources. We are not affiliated with, and not endorsed by, any of them:

  • NHS England — Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) achievement, prevalence and exceptions data: digital.nhs.uk
  • OpenPrescribing (Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science, University of Oxford) — NHS prescribing data: openprescribing.net
  • CVDPREVENT national primary care audit: cvdprevent.nhs.uk
  • National Diabetes Audit (NHS England, with Diabetes UK): digital.nhs.uk
  • NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) — practice, PCN and ICB identifiers: digital.nhs.uk

In addition, patient-message templates link out to nhs.uk condition pages for further reading — these are reference links for patients, not a data source for the service.

The service does not ask for, and must never be used to submit, individual patient records, NHS numbers, or any other patient-identifiable or special-category data. Accounts hold only the professional details needed to operate the service — see the Privacy Policy for the full list. If prohibited data is entered into any part of the service in breach of this disclaimer, you are responsible for the consequences, including any resulting data breach.

4. Accuracy, verification and your responsibility

Benchmarks are only as current as the underlying published data releases, which lag real time (typically by months). AI-generated suggestions may be incomplete, outdated, or based on a pattern that does not apply to a specific patient or situation. You are responsible for:

  • Checking figures against your own clinical system before acting on them
  • Verifying that any suggested action reflects current NHS, QOF and prescribing guidance
  • Following your practice’s own clinical governance and safeguarding procedures
  • Exercising independent clinical judgement for every patient

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

5. Limitations of the AI features

The AI QI plan feature uses a large language model (see §6 of the Privacy Policy) to draft narrative suggestions from your practice’s benchmark position. Like any AI model, it can generate a plausible-sounding but incorrect or poorly-prioritised suggestion, and it has no understanding of a patient’s individual circumstances. All AI output must be independently reviewed before use and is never a substitute for clinical judgement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Datim-QI Ltd is not liable for any loss arising from use of Datim-QI, including clinical outcomes, QOF payment outcomes, CQC or regulatory consequences, data breaches caused by misuse of the service, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

7. Not NHS-endorsed

Datim-QI is an independent tool built on published NHS data. It is not NHS England policy, not endorsed or approved by NHS England, an ICB, the CQC, the GMC, or any other regulator, and does not represent the position of any of these bodies.

8. Service availability

The service may be modified, suspended or withdrawn at any time, including for maintenance or due to upstream data-source or AI-provider outages. We are not responsible for access disruption caused by NHS network restrictions, local IT policy, or third-party outages outside our control.

9. Third-party links

Links to NHS.uk, OpenPrescribing or other external sites are provided for convenience only. We do not control or endorse third-party content.

10. Who should use this service

Datim-QI is intended for use by GPs, practice managers and other practice staff acting in a professional capacity, aged 18 or over. It is not intended for use by members of the public or patients.

11. Governing law

This disclaimer is governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this disclaimer from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Continued use of Datim-QI constitutes acceptance of any changes.
